Freelance - Accident Simulation

An Unfortunate Project

A client requested that I develop a simulation of a vehicular accident they were involved in based on their recollection of the event.

Working in After Effects, I was able to build assets for use in 2.5D space and re-create the event as close as possible to the client’s memory. With the animation in place, it was easy to set up and position the camera placement in order to provide different viewing angles.

In addition to other supporting documents, this video assisted in the success of the court findings and the client being compensated for the crash.

Projects below this divider were developed for Freelance clients between the years of 2008 – 2010. During that timeframe, these projects were primarily done with Adobe Flash, (pre-Animate), ActionScript 2.0, and Dreamweaver, with some minimal HTML hand-coding.

Flash banners had strict guidelines on dimensions, length and file sizes. All of these banners were developed in a minimum of 5 sizes and orientations, could not be more than 10 seconds long and varied in file size between 25 – 40kb, depending on other specifications. At the time, the LasikPlus, “girl in swimming pool” banner had rated the highest CTA, (call-to-action), in the agency’s history.

Landing Pages

Starting from an outline and a few specific branding assets, landing pages were designed in Photoshop and Illustrator and put together in Dreamweaver. Full functionality was created for all form fields and buttons.

Health Information Associates

Following the organization’s branding, the client requested a website that featured a Flash intro that would spotlight key team members along with their hobbies and profiles. Developing a “flip card” reveal allowed the user to click on a team member to showcase their main hobbies and clicking further would lead to that team member’s profile. The remainder of the site was designed in Photoshop as it corresponded to branding, then built out in Dreamweaver.

HTML Emails

While following the client’s branding, HTML Email layouts were designed in Photoshop and developed in Dreamweaver. Some examples were based on templates that made it easy to replicate and change content, while others were slightly more elaborate in design with similar functionality. All HTML Emails are tested in various mail clients and developed to meet all guidelines for their proper display in email applications.

Freelance Flash Website

Joe Catena .com

A client requested a Flash website for his portfolio that would be sleek and clean and easy to navigate. With a very streamlined look and feel that matched the client’s style, a Flash site was developed with full functionality to view specific clients, pharma work and a scrollable resume with a download option.
